Dr. Dimitris Loutradis is Professor of Obstetrics – Gynecology, University of Athens and from September 1st, 2013 Chairman of the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Athens University at “Alexandra” Hospital.
He graduated from the Medical School of Athens University.
He completed his doctoral thesis at the Medical School of Athens University. For two years he was fellow in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.
Since 1987 he has been Director of the Assisted Reproduction Medicine at the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Athens University at “Alexandra” Hospital.
In 1996 he was awarded the prize of the Academy of Athens.
Since 2006, he holds the position of Professor of Medicine, University of Athens.
He was elected member of the Executive Committee of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) for the years 2005-2009.
He was a member of the Hellenic Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and since 2014 he is President elected of HSOG.
He has 100 publications in Greek medical journals, 181 publications in international medical journals (peer-reviewed) and 3240 citations (hi 30, i10-index 70).
He is a member of several Greek and international scientific societies.
As a guest speaker has given 300 lectures of which 110 as an invited speaker at international conferences.
He was Chairman of the Master Program “Reproductive – Regenerative Medicine”, from 2010-2014.
He is Editor of the International Journal of Reproductive Medicine, Guest Editor at BioMed Research International and Reviewer in prestigious journals such as Human Reproduction Update, Fertility and Sterility and Gynecologic Endocrinology.
