Work experience:
From May 2003 Head of the ophthalmological department at the Villa Maria Hospital of Torino.
In this period I personally have performed about 3,000 glaucoma and cataract operations and I did about 1,000 vitreo-retinal surgical interventions.
In 2013 my equipe which I am the head of dealt with 1.600 cases of cataract (phacoemulsification with IOL implants in sulcus or in the bag, secondary implants with the technique of sclera suspension); experience with INFINITY and LEGACY of ALCON.
478 cases of vitreo-retinal surgery (macular holes, macular puckers, proliferant diabetic retinopathy, subretinals membranes, retinal detachment). Vitreo retinal surgery performed with 20 or 25 gauge technique with MILLENIUM OF Bausch & Lomb.
35 cases of glaucoma treated with ab externo trabeculectomy.
137 cases of ophthalmolastic surgery (entropion, ectropion, blepharoptosis , ptosis, xantelasma etc.)
1,460 cases of argon laser and yag laser treatment (retinal holes, diabetic retinopathy, secondary cataract etc.)
1991-2003 First assistant in ophthalmology to Dr. Carmello Aleci at the Gradenigo Hospital in
Torino. In this period I performed approx. 3,500 cataract operations and did may laser treatments
